2021 Meeting

CFP: Challenging Crops and Climates

2021 AHS Annual Meeting Registration is Open!

Please register for our first-ever online annual meeting by clicking here. (For a link to the CFP, click here.) This year’s conference is spread out over five days, with shorter conference days so participants can still manage personal lives while working from home. The program is available on the conference website or you can view a preliminary draft by clicking here.

When you are on the conference website, you will see the “Register” button on the far right hand side of the menu bar. Click it and you will have the choice of selecting the "Attendee" or "Speaker" button. Click on the "Speaker" button If you are on the program for conference as a presenter, moderator, or chair. If you are not on the program select the "Attendee" button.

A receipt will be issued to you upon successful payment. If you have any difficulty with the registration system, feel free to email aghistorysociety@gmail.com.

This year we are offering three price points for participation:

· member ($95)
· non-member ($145)*
· student ($25)

*The non-member price includes a one year membership in AHS for 2021.

Members receive a subscription to the journal Agricultural History as well as the satisfaction of supporting an organization dedicated to supporting research and scholarly activities in agricultural and rural history.

If you are experiencing financial stress and would like support to attend the conference, please email us at aghistorysociety@gmail.com.

After you have registered, please contact your session chair/moderator to provide a brief biographical statement for introductions (if you haven't already done so).

If you would like a different portrait of yourself or image on the conference website, just send it along to aghistorysociety@gmail.com. In some cases, we could not locate a suitable photograph of you so we used your institutional logo or a photo of books.

In the interest of keeping the conference on schedule and conducting sessions in an equitable manner, we ask that in panels with four papers, please keep presentations to approximately 12-13 minutes. For sessions with three papers, strive for 15-minute presentations. In these days of "Zoom fatigue," your brevity will allow greater opportunity for the audience to interact with the presenters and ensure all presenters have time to speak.

In the coming weeks there will be more information about conference activities, procedures, and how to log on to your sessions.

Special thanks go to this year’s program committee, tasked with updating last year’s program and soliciting new papers, panels, and featured events.
